truenorth_cloud_Logo_revised-01_220x61True North is seeking a Virtualization Engineer that will be responsible for the reliability of multiple customer facing product lines. The successful candidate will mainly be supporting True North Cloud space out of both Seattle and Las Vegas data centers with more locations to follow. The Virtualization Engineer will focus on supporting the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) product line. Additional product lines include Veeam and Zerto replication offerings into our cloud space. Daily activities will include deploying, monitoring and protecting virtual assets for customers utilizing the IaaS platform. Virtual assets include virtual machines, virtual networking, virtual firewalls and virtual load balancers. Additional duties will include adhering to compliance standards and maintaining up to date documentation concerning policies and procedures in alignment with ISO or NIST standards. This role will focus on the continued development of ISO and NIST standards for the Cloud services and be highly visible throughout the organization and will contribute to the overall success of the company. The Virtualization Engineer will work directly with Cloud architects and support current True North initiatives. True North maintains a very flat management structure and the Jr Level Engineer will report directly to the Director of Cloud Services.

Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to data center locations
  • Ability to lift, rack, stack and deploy hardware up to 50lbs, however some data center locations have hydraulic lifts to assist with these tasks
  • Operational experience delivering, monitoring and protecting virtual assets in a 24/7/365 production customer facing environment
  • Documented examples of experience with technical writing and documentation including examples of Visio diagrams
  • Technical documentation experience
  • Experience with VMware vSphere Hypervisor

Experience with the following software is a plus:

  • VMware vRealize Log Insight
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Veeam One Monitor
  • Zerto Replication
  • Cisco FIRESIGHT

Experience with the following technologies is required:

  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking experience
  • Security device experience including IPSEC VPN tunnels and ACL/Rule creation
  • Storage array experiencing including iSCSI and NFS

Preferable technical certifications include:

  • VMWare: VCP, VCAP, VCIX
  • Cisco: CCNA, CCNP

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
  • Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for diligently entering all time and expenses in the ticketing system as they occur
  • Work through a daily schedule that has been established
